This series was inspired in part by Walt Whitman's poem of the same title. It begins:

I wander all night in my vision,
Stepping with light feet, swiftly and noiselessly stepping and stopping,
Bending with open eyes over the shut eyes of the sleepers,
Wandering and confused, lost to myself, ill-assorted, contradictory,
Pausing, gazing, bending, and stopping.

How solemn they look there, stretch'd and still,
How quiet they breathe, the little children in their cradles.

I was very pleased to be able to show the 6 Sleepers and the 2 Scrolls (next on the tour) in The Sage Colleges faculty show in the Opalka Gallery on the Albany campus.
